My Story

The first day of the rest of my life occurred when I received an email which stated my new position as videographer for the student multimedia website, Viking Fusion. As a first-generation college student with Brazilian immigrant parents, I did not think I had the resources to attend college. However, with hard work and dedication, I have not only been able to put myself through college, but I have also deepened my passion for visual storytelling.

I am a senior at Berry College pursuing a B.S. in mathematics and visual communication.  I am currently a mentor for nineteen first-year students and the Executive Director of Viking Fusion, an award winning student-run multimedia website. At Viking Fusion I am responsible for twenty-five people in three different departments; news, production and public relations. I am also the liaison between Viking Fusion, Berry College and the communication department. Every day is a new task and I have loved working for Viking Fusion these past four years. In addition to such an incredible job, this summer I was blessed with the opportunity to combine my passions for filming, editing and storytelling at the National Baseball Hall of Fame. After earning my B.S. in May, I aspire to continue to bring my creative flair in the storytelling industry.

I have never been averse to adventures or obstacles. After successfully attaining the first college degree in my family, I am prepared and equipped for whatever challenges await me.
